We are metaphorically cooking here in Uganda ministry and we are giving out words like hotcakes. Or I guess rice would be the better analogy. Let’s give out more words in this blog.

Leadership is going well. The other team feels more settled. I’m getting everything moving that needs to be moving. There’s a lot of little decisions throughout the day that I have to take care of, so the brain never really turns off. But I’m okay with the decision making. I wanted a leadership position fully knowing responsibility would lead to more work.

The words that we are giving out like rice would be the word of God. We aren’t going door to door with the Bibles due to a request from our host, but are still giving out a lot at our Bible studies. Other ministry has included going to a pastor leadership conference and I got an opportunity to preach at church. All in all, ministry is going well.

In my off time in this country, I decided to buy a soccer ball to play with kids. We see a lot of kids here who are always so thrilled to see us. Normally we just pass them by with a smile and wave, but I decided to do a bit more with the kids. Side note, but one crazy thought to think is the little babies around were in stomachs when I was last in America. The kids have been thrilled to play, and the opportunity can lead to some ministry with the teenagers and adults. I figured I could read or be on my phone at home, but I only get one chance to give these kids some good memories, so I might as well take advantage. The first time ranged from 10 to 20 littler kids, the second time was about five teenagers, and five small kids. First group just kicked the ball around and second group had a game where you passed the ball away from someone in the middle of the circle. I also got to play with some kids with an empty water bottle and some imagination on the hill where we view the sunset. The sunset is very pretty by the way.

Interestingly enough, each country really had a different side quest. Thailand was evangelism, Malaysia was prepping the English lessons, the Philippines was handing out food to the homeless, Ethiopia was the toilet (a noble one I know XP) Kenya was many card games, and now I have the soccer games. I also worked out on a pretty consistent basis in Malaysia and Kenya. Just interesting how each country has been so different with what to do.

America will also be different. But we’ve still got a month left on the field here. So I’m going to try to wrap this adventure up well. Regardless of how good or bad I do wrapping up, I will write about the experience on here.
