Quick blog introduction.

We spent a lot of time having fun with the kids this week. We taught them a card game called Saboteur since the kids had the cards. The first day some of the kids didn’t get the game, but by day two the kids really had a handle on how to play. These kids learn fast. Other activities include disc golf, Uno, puzzles, and marbles, depending on the age. We also taught the kids about the power of words and how to take your thoughts captive.

We went to an old Ethiopian royal palace for sightseeing. The sight was seen. That same day we had Ethiopian food. The food was consumed. We then went back to get our passports picked up.

Speaking of passports, the Ethiopian visa process is interesting. Foreigners have to have $100 USD on standby to get a visa renewal, and the Government will not sell USD to foreigners. The other team went to get visas first and went to the black market to get some USD. Foreigners also often get higher prices on stuff. As an example, we were supposed to go to an eco-park with our host, but the price was five times as high for foreigners, and our host was already appalled at the price for Ethiopians. If you’re ever going to Ethiopia for more than 30 days have a lot of USD on you.

I am teaching the kids about baptism tomorrow so prayers for their hearts for discernment regarding that would be greatly appreciated.
