Another blog is being written and man I want to go home. Let’s kill some more time by talking about the past week.

We got a lot more Bibles and we gave out a lot more Bibles. The size of the Bible study compared to what the size started out as is actually insane. We got over 100 Bibles, and within the first three days if we wouldn’t have stopped giving the Bibles out the Bibles would be all gone. That depletion is with the rule of one per household and no Bible if you already have one. Of course the people could just lie about the answer to those questions to get the item from the white person. We were at a pastors conference with a famous Ugandan missionary who was giving out books and she said to only take one English or one Luganda. People got in line for both. In short, we don’t want the Bibles rotting on shelves, so now we are giving the Bibles out at the Sunday service. Larger crowds have also created problems with interruptions, arguments, and incorrect theology being discussed which has made the studies more difficult to manage. Overall, things are still going well with the Bible studies though.

We went to a former World Racer’s ministry and helped out on Halloween. We gave out candy and other items to kids, completely unrelated to Halloween. We also played with the kids as well as some very cute puppies.

We also went to a church we were told was going to be a 30 minute drive away. The drive to the church was three hours. We were told we were mostly going to be doing evangelism with a small introduction and maybe a little ministry at the church. A majority of our time was sitting at the church with about 30 minutes of evangelism. Our host was also surprised at the day. The time was still well spent. I got to talk to/ sing with 10 little kids about Jesus and then a family which had heard Jesus’ name but did not follow him. I also was the one who preached the main message because I had something prepared since I make sermons in my free time. I got to talk right before a Nigerian visitor, which was cool considering the sheer level of persecution going on in Nigeria right now. He also did a really good job building on top of my message. He said he was going to preach for an hour even though he only had 30 minutes. He preached for 20 minutes. After evangelism, we got food. There was something that I thought was matoke, so I only got a little, then I found out the food was actually mashed potatoes. That experience made me want to be at home because I miss mashed potatoes. I think the general vibe of a lot of people is wanting to be home.

Well at least I’m closer to being home than I was when I started writing this blog. We are now in the month where we will be home. Peace out homies!
